About

Building the Future of Economic Education Through Games and AI

EconTech Studio is a game-based learning company creating interactive experiences that teach economics, decision-making, and systems thinking to students worldwide.

THE STRUCTURAL PROBLEM

The Economic Literacy Gap

Young people today navigate inflation, digital economies, global trade, and financial decision-making long before they formally study economics.

Yet economic education often arrives late, abstract, and disconnected from real-world experience.

As a result, students are exposed to complex systems without the foundational understanding needed to interpret them.

Our Approach

From Story to System

Story First

Economic concepts are introduced through narrative, making ideas relatable, human, and easy to understand.

Active Simulation

Students interact with dynamic game systems where decisions impact markets, resources, and outcomes in real time.

Guided Reflection

Structured reflection connects in-game experiences to real economic principles and thinking patterns.

Iterative Learning

Students refine strategies, improve decision-making, and develop long-term systems thinking skills.

EconTech transforms economic education into an active learning experience where students progress through story-driven gameplay, interactive simulations, and guided reflection.

Instead of memorising concepts, students learn by participating in systems and experiencing the outcomes of their decisions.

Public Impact

Strengthening Civic and Financial Confidence

Economic thinking extends beyond classrooms and markets. It shapes how individuals understand systems, evaluate trade-offs, and make informed decisions in everyday life. EconTech Studio builds learning experiences that help students develop these capabilities early through interactive games, simulations, and real-world decision-making environments.

Confident Decisions

Students develop structured reasoning under constraints by making choices in simulated economic environments.

Civic Awareness

Understanding how economic systems, policies, and incentives shape societies and everyday life.

Systems Thinking

Recognising relationships between markets, resources, behaviour, and policy within interconnected systems.

Shared Economic Language

Building the ability for students, teachers, and communities to discuss economic ideas with clarity and confidence.

Founder

Dr Helen Hoang

Dr Helen Hoang is an economist, author, and education innovator based in Canberra, focused on transforming how young people understand economic systems and decision-making.

With experience across economics research, public policy, and education design, she recognised a consistent gap between formal economic theory and how students actually experience the world.

She founded EconTech Studio to close the gap between economic theory and real-world understanding through game-based learning, simulations, and interactive education tools.
